No mistake, the statistic is from the Europol EU Terrorism 2009 report. It has been seized upon by LoonWatch.com, a Muslim run American-based web site explaining how everyone always gets it wrong about Muslims. They say:
"….. The results are stark, and prove decisively that not all terrorists are Muslims. In fact, a whopping 99.6% of terrorist attacks in Europe were by non-Muslim groups; a good 84.8% of attacks were from separatist groups completely unrelated to Islam. …. Only a measly 0.4% of terrorist attacks from 2007 to 2009 could be attributed to extremist Muslims."
Unfortunately, they haven’t bothered to read the report they quote.
The great majority of European terrorists attacks are indeed to do with separatism (Basques and Corsicans) and most of these are aimed at property, businesses or government establishments. The Europol report says:
“ ….. targets of Corsican separatist terrorist groups are holiday apartments and houses. In addition, cars of non-Corsican residents and real estate agencies renting holiday houses were attacked…. Target selection remains dependent on the political goals of the groups concerned. As in previous years, Corsican separatist terrorist groups mainly targeted private property or individuals, while Basque separatist terrorist groups mainly carried out attacks against business and governmental targets.
…. The majority of left-wing and anarchist terrorist attacks targeted business and governmental targets.”
Now compare that with the failed Islamic underpants bomber who wanted to bring down an airliner with 300 innocent people on board over Detroit, a major city, and kill hundreds, if not thousands more.
A single successful Muslim attack could be 100 times greater than what the separatists, lefties and animal rights nutters have done in decades!
