Hitch in plans for two Muslim schools as preferred sites deemed to be too small

.... A Department for Education spokesman said no final decision had been made on An-Noor's application and said he could not discuss the specific proposals further.

But he added: "A strong application would not be ruled out solely on the basis of concerns about potential sites."

Mr Rehmat previously said the schools would teach the National Curriculum "in a religious atmosphere". He stressed non-Muslim teenagers would be able to attend the school and would not have to pray.
