A ban on headgear, including hijabs and turbans, has been lifted in professional basketball.
The milestone has been celebrated among Muslim players, including the first all-Muslim women's team, which is based here in Leicester.
In May, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) approved the rule change to allow players to wear headgear during matches.
The governing body had previously said that it was a safety issue but the changes took effect from Sunday.
Fiba began to revise its headgear rules in 2014 after Fifa authorised the wearing of head covers for religious reasons during games.
Female Muslim players have welcomed the change and believe it will make an important statement.
