Ban on burqa draws line in the sand

FOR obviously superficial reasons, I've always associated Belgium with expensive chocolates, rather than political acts of bravery. That changed with its decision to ban the burqa.

....It is true that only a tiny number of Australian-based women would don the burqa but volume is really irrelevant. Like Belgium, it is the message that a ban sends that is most important. Sometimes a line in the sand has to be drawn and the burqa is one such time.
