Woman in burkha held after MP is stabbed in stomach

A POPULAR Labour MP was stabbed twice in the stomach yesterday by a young woman wearing a burkha during one of his regular public advice surgeries.

Former Cabinet Minister Stephen Timms was said to be in “good spirits” as he recovered in hospital after the incident at a community facility in Beckton, East London. A 21-year-old woman was arrested after the attack and was being questioned by police. [Daily Express] Read more
