The Islamic Education and Research Agency (iERA) misreport one of the main findings of their study “Perceptions of Islam & Muslims” published last week. They say “75% (of the British non-Muslims surveyed) believed Islam and Muslims had provided a negative contribution to society”.

Why would Muslims play up Islamophobia? ....Either the reporter agreed with this Academy’s agenda or went along with the press release without checking. Either way it’s very dishonest.
I’m actually surprised that the number of people who are neutral about Sharia is so high. It comes as no shock that a HuT sympathiser would spin such a line – their aim is to increase bunker mentality among Muslims. But it’s more annoying the Guardian’s Haroon Siddique fell for their line.
Yes there is plenty of Islamophobia in the press. But trying to exaggerate it, especially to serve the cause of such groups, doesn’t do the Guardian or ordinary British Muslims any credit. [Pickled Politics] Read more
