How tolerant is England and Wales? New figures from the Home Office show that hate crime is rare - equivalent to 11 out of every 1,000 crimes in 2011-12.
That's probably no compensation if you've been a victim, however, and the data gives a detailed breakdown of hate crimes across the two countries for the latest financial year.
