[A COMMENT] Now to blow through all the smoke here. First of all, the Southern Poverty Law Center (QUOTE):

[ANOTHER COMMENT] Soared? Sky-rocketed? This is absurd language given the small numbers involved. 2,8 million US Muslims and 157 anti-Muslim recorded hate crimes in 2011..... Get a grip!
We have 157 recorded crimes for 2011, which compared to the high point of 2001 (481) is not exactly soaring to the stratosphere...and lags behind e.g. anti-Jewish incidents pretty obviously....
