A hardline Islamic group is radicalising hundreds of Rochdale youngsters, a Muslim academic has claimed.
Haras Rafiq, director of prominent think-tank the Quilliam foundation, claims that Hizb ut-Tahrir - a group banned in many countries - has infiltrated schools and colleges in the town.
The organisation wants to establish a Muslim caliphate under Sharia law.
Mr Rafiq - who lives in Rochdale - says while the group is not affiliated with IS, many of its followers often grow bored and are drawn into more extremist ideologies. [Manchester Evening News] Read more
