Tied up, stuffed into a car boot, and then left to bleed out as the streets run red around them - this is the fate of thousands Australian animals sold to Muslim countries for Islam's annual 'Festival of Sacrifice'.
Distressing new footage shows goats and sheep being beaten, dragged and thrown about as they are taken to be slaughtered in conditions that are 'nothing short of a blood-bath'.
Now politicians and activists are calling on the government to properly enforce four-year-old laws that were designed to stop such abuses.
Andrew Wilkie, the independent MP for Denison, branded the Animals Australia footage 'appalling' and called for the export industry to be shut down.
He said: 'Here we see Australian sheep and goats being sent to Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman and Lebanon to suffer horrific treatment during the annual Festival of Sacrifice.
